Jock Zonfrillo, a renowned chef, author, and "Masterchef Australia" judge, has unexpectedly at the age of 46. His family announced the news on his Instagram account. We are heartbroken to report that Jock died away yesterday (30 April), the family said in a statement. "With completely shattered hearts and without knowing how we can possibly move through life without him," the statement added.

"So many stories can be told, so many words can describe him, but at this time we're too overwhelmed to put them into words," it said. Keep this proud Scot in your hearts the next time you sip whiskey for those who crossed his path, became his partner, or were fortunate enough to be his family.

Everyone was asked to respect the family's wish for privacy. We beg you to kindly give us space to grieve quietly as we figure out how to get through this and find room to enjoy our irreplaceable husband, father, son, and friend thereafter.

The new season of MasterChef Australia was scheduled to debut on Monday night, however, Network 10 has announced that it won't air this week.

In a statement, Endemol Shine Australia, which produces MasterChef Australia, and Network 10 both expressed their "deep shock and sadness at the sudden loss."

Award-winning chef and MasterChef Australia host Jock Zonfrillo has died suddenly, aged 46.

Jock Zonfrillo, a Scottish TV presenter and former chef, known for his recent role as a judge on “MasterChef Australia,” has died suddenly. He was 46.

According to a statement released by TV network Network Ten on Monday, Zonfrillo passed away on April 30 in Melbourne. The reason for death was not made public.

"Jock Masterchef" was a remarkable individual. He was a fantastic coworker and friend, and we consider it a great honor to have had him participate in MasterChef in such a significant and lasting way. Despite all of his significant career accomplishments, nothing made him happier or more joyful than his family. Our sympathies are with them during this extremely trying time, said Beverley McGarvey, executive VP of Network Ten's owner, Paramount ANZ.
